About Us
We provide an opportunity for small-scale African village farmers to thrive. Enabling them to have sustainable livelihoods.
All our Honey is naturally harvested.

Our History.
Treetop Honey was born from a desire to fulfil the vision of late John Enright, a Christian missionary who had a deep passion to help rural communities in Africa. Many have heard the old adage: give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and he feeds himself for a lifetime. John took this one step further and said go fishing with him every day and make sure he manages to catch fish and feed himself. Treetop honey lives by this philosophy.
John Enright along with his son, Nathan spent over 15 years developing and perfecting a modified version of the Kenyan Top-bar beehive and the unique method of suspending them in trees for the safety and benefit of the bee colony. They went on to develop their own bee hive manufacturing process and bee hive factory with a focus on using only sustainably grown pine and eucalyptus wood.
Treetop Honey was co-founded and is owned by Nathan Enright and Dev Patel who was mentored by his close friend, John Enright. Our business model – producing our own bee hives, giving them to rural villagers free of charge, suspending them in trees, harvesting and refining the honey ourselves – is unique. This process gives us the advantage of complete traceability and ensuring our customers receive the purest honey.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality honey worldwide while uplifting African rural communities as well as aid the local ecology through biodiversity.

Our Model
Our unique model provides an opportunity for small-scale African village farmers to thrive, resulting in sustainable livelihoods. At Treetop Honey we believe in the power of collaboration and community development. That is why we have engaged over 8,000 farmers with over 100,000 beehives empowering them to actively participate in the beekeeping process as well as benefit from supplemental income.
Through our schemes we are able to create a dual economic and environmental benefit. The additional income generated from honey gives our farmers a powerful incentive to expand their farming operations, leading to improved quality of life for themselves and their families.
Our commitment to sustainable practices extends beyond just the economic aspect. Importantly, our approach discourages environmentally destructive practices such as cutting down trees and poaching while providing an alternative source of livelihood.
Our initiative has brought about a transforming effect throughout rural communities in Zambia by contributing to the economic growth of families by enhancing the revenue potential of its farming communities. Additionally, we have collaborated with various government and non-governmental organisations for rural and refugee poverty alleviation, wildlife conservation, local empowerment and reforestation projects.
